There’s been people trying to push ⁂ as a way to represent the fediverse using a unicode symbol. I’m not sure it’s really taken off, but it’s an option.

underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto F-Droid@lemmy.ml•How to revert to an earlier version of an app?link fedilink 26 days ago3·arrow-up If you go to the repository settings there’s an option to enable archived apps and outdated versions. Then select the f-droid archive repo for that app.
Often these are disabled for a reason, so you might want to check if there’s any important bug fixes since then.
underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•What is this? A trend?link fedilink 28 days ago7·arrow-up It happens sometimes. Depending on the details, you can report them as spam, just remove the follow, or ignore it.
In some cases it could also be people that genuinely want to follow you. People often talk about one topic but still care about other stuff.
underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Mastodon@lemmy.ml•Why don't I see Threads.net posts in my home feed?link Englishfedilink 8·arrow-up 29 days agoedit-2 A lot of instances block it. You can check the moderated servers section on your instance about page to see if it’s blocked.
Meta does a terrible job moderating, so it can be a massive amount of extra work dealing with shitty people from there. They also have policy agreements to collect your data if you federate with them.

underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Linux@programming.dev•End of 10 is a campaign to move people over to Linux with Windows 10 support endinglink fedilink 1 month ago17·arrow-up The big one is W11 now requires a TPM chip, so tons of computers will stop getting updates soon, with no way to upgrade.
And they keep getting worse with a bunch of annoyances, like more ads, trying to force ai, making it harder to avoid a microsoft account, and getting rid of ways to customize the desktop layout.
underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto PeerTube@lemmy.wtf•App v1 is out! | JoinPeerTubelink fedilink 1 month ago9·arrow-up F-Droid always compiles everything themselves, and runs a bunch of tests on it before releasing anything. It’s usually a few extra days for most apps.

I don’t think they integrate that well with lemmy yet, but I think it’s being worked on.
underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you count Bluesky as the Fediverse? Why?link fedilink 1 month ago1·arrow-up That’s monthly right? It’s a slight exageration, but that’s close to low end used car payments. And from what I understand it’ll go up as bluesky gets more popular, and the more relays there are.
underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do you count Bluesky as the Fediverse? Why?link fedilink 2 months ago2·arrow-up It’s designed so other relays need to handle every message sent on all of bluesky, so server costs would be way too high for most people. Like car prices for minimal bluesky relay setup, and way more if you want to actually store all the messages you’re processing.

There’s lots of activity on the rest of the fediverse under hashtags like #streetart and #graffiti, and accounts like RadicalGraffiti and StreetArtUtopia.

underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Climate - truthful information about climate, related activism and politics.@slrpnk.net•The Myth of Plastic Recycling.link fedilink 2 months ago17arrow-up 3·arrow-down Recycling rates are low, but I wouldn’t quite call it a myth. There’s a lot of materials that get lumped together as ‘plastic’, that each have to be handled differently.
Some are relatively non-toxic and easily recycled. More can be, but aren’t profitable without incentives. Some are very toxic, and recycling those are difficult. Then there’s a lot of rarer types that make it hard to collect and sort. There’s also mixed materials, where it’s hard to separate the plastic to recycle.
Generally everyone should be minimizing plastics, but check how they’re handled locally so you know what’s recylable.
underscores@lemmy.dbzer0.comto Vegan@slrpnk.net•Anyone got tips for cooking seitan from powder form?link fedilink 2 months ago3·arrow-up I haven’t made it in years, but the powder (vital wheat gluten) is basically flour with the starch removed. There’s a lot of recipes out there, but the idea is to make a flavored dough out of it, then simmer it in a broth for at least half an hour. The tricky part is you don’t want it to fully boil, or the texture will be off. You need keep checking on it to keep it at a low simmer.
I should mention that while it does have a lot of protein, it’s the same type of protein as the pasta. It doesn’t really matter for a single meal, but it’s not a complete protein. Long term you need other sources to get all your amino acids. There’s a reason a lot of staple meals have a combination of grains and legumes.

Feminism includes ways to understand patriarchal systems, as well as methods of dismantling them.
It looks like there’s !bonecollecting@lemmy.world that you could try.
